At CookiePal, one of our main priorities is theprivacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by CookiePal and how we use it. If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us.

Log Files

CookiePal follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and it is a part of hosting services analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring and exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. An IP address is personal data, and we treat this log data as personal data. We use it to operate and secure the service, to diagnose faults, and to understand traffic in aggregate. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, we do not combine it with any profile, and we do not sell or share it. Log data is kept only as long as it is needed for those purposes and is then deleted.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Like any other website, CookiePal uses "cookies". These cookies are used to store information including visitors preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users experience by customising our web page content based on visitors browser type and/or other information.

Privacy Policies

You may consult this list to find the Privacy Policy for each of the advertising partners of CookiePal.

Third-party ad servers or ad networks uses technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons that are used in their respective advertisements and links that appear on CookiePal, which are sent directly to user's browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on websites that you visit.

Note that CookiePal has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.

Third Party Privacy Policies

CookiePal's Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options.

You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. To know more detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers, it can be found at the browsers' respective websites. What Are Cookies?

Children's Information

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

CookiePal does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

The CookiePal plugin and MCP server

CookiePal offers a free plugin that checks a single web page for the cookies and trackers set before consent. It runs on your own machine, inside Claude Code, and needs no CookiePal account. It talks to our hosted service at mcp.cookiepal.io, which hands out the plan for a check and then stores and counts the result.

The page is loaded by the plugin on your machine, never by us. What reaches CookiePal is the page's origin and path, with the query string and fragment removed on your machine before anything is sent, because they can carry tokens and identifiers; each cookie's name, domain, path, expiry, flags and category, never its value, which our server has no field for and rejects; the third-party hosts the page contacted; what the banner's accept and reject buttons changed, in the same form; the plugin's version; and the country the check ran from, worked out from the IP address your request arrives with. That IP address is used for the country lookup and is not stored.

The plugin can also send a random install ID, which lets us count unique installs rather than only checks. It is created and sent only if you agree to share it, the default is no, and the check works either way. Our lawful basis for it is your consent; for everything else in a check it is our legitimate interest in running, securing and measuring the service. A stored check is deleted automatically 180 days after it was started.

There is no account attached to any of this, so unless you shared an install ID we are unlikely to be able to tell which stored checks are yours. If you did share one, send it to support@cookiepal.io and we will handle your request. The service runs on Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt, Germany; our providers are listed on the sub-processors page.

This is a summary. The full notice, including what never leaves your machine and what passes through Claude Code, is in the CookiePal plugin privacy notice. The free service itself is covered by the CookiePal plugin terms of service.

This Privacy Policy covers our online activities: visitors to our website, customers of the CookiePal service, and users of the CookiePal plugin and MCP server described above, with regard to the information they share with us or that we collect. It does not apply to information collected offline, or through any channel not described in this policy.
